12 yard very large skip hire size guidance

Maxi skips are usually only used for commercial projects but they could be used for a large domestic renovation project. Shop fitters find this size useful as they can fit a large amount of volume waste such as metal, wood, plastics and packaging waste. Maxi skip hire is not suitable for heavy loads like as soil, rubble or concrete as it would be too heavy for the skip lorry to lift. Many councils will not allow a 12 yard skip to be placed on the public highway, so you can normally only use one if you have enough private land. A 12 yard skip holds approximately 100-120 bin bags.Check out our skip size guide for a handy comparison of all the skips we offer.

Great for very large domestic jobs. This skip can not go on the road.

Once you’re satisfied with the skip size you need, take a quick look at our list of what you are and are not allowed to dispose of in skips. You cannot, for example put fridges or dishwashers in skips. Nor can you put cars in skips. Obviously. Tyres and electricals from the cars are a no-no, so check out our list. Apart from what’s on that list, almost everything else can be thrown into a skip(except Gorillas – good luck getting one of those in there).
